PCCSC Championships

Dear NHSF Board Members,

Thank you so much for your financial support that aided us in attending the PCCSC Championships in Hawaii this year. We were able to send a team of five sailors to Hawaii thanks to your support. We had an awesome weekend racing and learned a lot about sailing in very heavy and shifty winds.

Saturday (April 26th) was a very long day of sailing; the wind had a base of about 15-18mph with 22-25mph gusts. It was very shifty the entire day. Although it was pretty windy, the warm water and weather made it a bit more bearable despite the fatigue of heavy wind sailing. There were 8 races for A fleet and 6 for B fleet that day.

Sunday started out light and rainy in the morning, with B fleet going out first. They sat on the water for a while until the wind picked up. We did much better on Sunday than Saturday, finishing 5th in A and 4th in B in the last races. There were 12 races for each fleet, and 24 total races run throughout the weekend. It was a tiring but enjoyable weekend of racing, and we ended up in 9th out of 12 overall.

Attached are some pictures of us from the weekend.

Thank you so much for your support; we greatly appreciate it!
