29er Orange Bowl & 29er U.S Nationals

Dear Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation,

Thank you very much for the very generous grant, which allowed me to travel to Florida over Christmas Break to compete in the 29er Open Orange Bowl along with the 29er U.S Nationals!

Throughout both regattas, conditions were cloudy, often raining, with breeze varying from 4-25 knots. These varied conditions allowed us to improve our skills. The Open Orange Bowl started two days after we arrived, allowing us a full day to rig up and practice.

Our results were strong. We finished the Orange Bowl in 10th place, and the Nationals in 9th place. Throughout the regatta we competitively competed with the best sailors in the world. This experience allowed me to learn more than I thought was possible, and also introduced me to a new set of friends on the East Coast.

As an update, due to my weight, I am changing my 29er position from skipper to crew. My new skipper and I are actively practicing and plan to compete in the 29er circuit this summer!

Again, thank you very much for the grant.
