29er Orange Bowl & 29er U.S Nationals

Dear Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation,

Thank you very much for your generous grant to help pay the expenses for my regattas in Florida. It was our first national championship outside of California and was a great learning experience. We enjoyed two successful regattas in Miami. Out of the 23 national and international entries, we finished 11th at Open Orange Bowl and 8th at 29er US nationals (halfway through the regatta we were in 3rd). We were very happy with our results and your support made this all the more accessible. We look forward to building on this successful experience, which has further motivated me to set new goals this summer at the 29er World Championships and the US Youth Championships. Particularly enjoyable were the great sailors we met along the way. We stayed with professional sailor and two-time olympian Mark Mendelblatt, who also helped us a ton along with local-based olympians Kevin Burnum and Oggie Diaz. Also a very special thanks to our coach, Zach Brown who truly made a difference.
