Sailors: Porter Condon
This July 27–30 I competed in the 2026 Junior Sabot National Championship at Mission Bay Yacht Club. I am excited to share that I finished third in the Bronze fleet. During the fleet selection round, I narrowly missed the silver cutoff. I was placed in the Bronze fleet, and from there my goal was simple: sail consistently, get good starts, and fight for every boat on the racecourse.
The Bronze fleet was full of close, competitive racing, and every point mattered. Finishing 3rd in the bronze division showed me how much my sailing has improved over the past year. I learned a lot about staying focused through a long regatta and bouncing back after a tough race.
I want to sincerely thank the Newport Harbor Sailing Foundation for its support. Their generosity helped make it possible for me to train and compete at Nationals, and I’m grateful for their encouragement. Next season, my goal is to keep improving and work my way up into a higher fleet.
