Thank you so much for all of your funding help for my trip to CJ Buckley. Below is my report and photos from the regatta. This was an incredible regatta. We fought hard against some fierce competitors and were in the fight for most of the regatta. Kingston Keyoung (my skipper) and I flew out early to practice with the rest of our team at Tom's River Yacht Club, the coaching was invaluable and the conditions were mixed with light to medium breeze, rain and heat. After 2 days of practicing together, we felt ready to go. The regatta had a slow start with pouring rain that flooded boats on dollies the first day, and postponed racing until 2pm. Finally, we got out on the course in the afternoon and we had a strong start as a team winning almost all our races the first day. Day two, we were turning out good results, the rain cleared and constant wind shifts kept races tight and exciting and so did Gold Fleet's tough competition. We persevered to the knockout rounds, and unfortunately did not podium, but we had many good races and results. In the end the "Kings" (our team) finished at 8th of 48 teams and we learned a lot from our coaches and fellow competitors.
